Oaks Day

ball is lifeOn Thursday all the grade six students dressed up in there finest cloths for Oaks day. I were a dark blue T-shirt with camel shorts and a grey tie. We had a catwalk to see who was the most stylish. The winners in my grade was Liv Tyra Oscar and Ashton. The overall winners in grade six were Liv and Angus. My favourite grade six on the catwalk was Joseph because he was really enthusiastic.

Me in a minute

For the last week we have been doing Me in a minute . Its where we do a number of task in one minute. Click on the link to see my results.

To improve hitting a ball in a target I will practice at home with my footy target.

To improve push ups I will do them for 2 minutes everyday, same with the situps.

To improve bouncing a ball on a racket I’ll get my racket and practise every day for 2 minutes.

My favourite Character

My favourite character in Paper Planes is grandpa George. I like him because he is a funny adventurous old man. My favourite part in the movie is when Dylan said to grandpa “how many laws have you broken today” “3 CLICK 4”. I also like it when grandad comes to the garage sale with all his lady friends.

Making my own bridge

Today we all had to design and build a bridge. I partnered up with Ashton. Our bridge was just a group of paper cylinders grouped up together. When we tested how much it weighed it did better than I thought. 1.9kg it held until it fell. I think next time we should build more support on the bottom.

paper bridges

Today we are making bridges with A4 pieces of paper.

We have to research what they look like and what the most stable designs. Then we get our A4 paper and make shapes of a bridge such as cylinders rectangles or a flat surface.

A good technique would be to put stuffing inside the bridge.

Bridges

I like the design of these bridges because they have great support on the bottom and are very safe.

I would pick the first one because there are pillars to support it and the second one because the wires are supporting the bridge.
